Maybe Unicorns
This Fantasy Romance does many things that more professionally published authors have failed to give me, and a good number of those things have to do with the protagonist, Maddie. As I said in my Goodreads review of this title, Sanatra has removed many of the elements that frustrated me with Bella Swan in TWILIGHT, or rather, the way her wants and desires were treated in the text by the author and the surrounding characters.
For my Goodreads challenge this year I made a commitment to read 50 books and make half of them by indie and/or Indigenous creators. I couldn't help but support a fellow Atmosphere writer in the process of reaching that goal, so I picked up Witches & Vampires by Brianna Witte, an Ontarian author who has a number of short story publications under her belt.
Best friends Kahrin and Innes must answer the question: is this rando creeper a unicorn kidnapper? Or is he just a regular skeezy white guy?
I know I'm pushing up against the line for holiday-themed stories, at ten minutes to midnight here on Christmas, but I had this little story for Kahrin and Innes in my head, and wanted to share it. Happy holidays to everyone celebrating. ~B
